Site Expert

This page provides a description of the site expert.

The site expert is an individual with first-hand knowledge of the study site and is contributing primary data as part of a case-study. The site expert can be either an author of a case-study or someone with direct knowledge of the study site.

Primary data is defined as direct observations published by an author(s).  These may include data obtained by the author from other existing sources that are unavailable from other academic sources (ie. county statistics obtained from a county gazetteer). An academic source represents a primary source of data if the author(s) present(s) their own observations on a particular place and/or region, and are not citing this as coming from an academic source published by someone else.
