Description

FAO country codes are adapted to accommodate GLU cells containing multiple countries. Native data is in polygon vector format projected in Geographic Coordinate System Eckert IV WGS 1984.

Processing Procedure

1. In MATLAB, write a script to extract and index country codes.

2. Read in ISO_NUM, L1_ID, and CNTRY_NAME attributes.

3. For cells containing multiple countries, names are ordered alphabetically and separated with underscores.

Data Coverage

Data is coded by the number of cells covered by the native data (1), data extrapolation (2), and not covered by either (3).
